BarCamp Shanghai was started by Raincity Studios with Jon Hancock in 2006 and is an ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees.

 

Geeks on a Plane attendees will get an in depth glimpse of Shanghai’s startup community and participate in discussions and exchange of new ideas.

TEDx Shanghai will be the first event organized by Chinameme under official license by TED, scheduled at M1NT Shanghai during the the Shanghai International Film Festival.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share ideas worth spreading.

 

 

At TEDx Shanghai, video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. We have a limited number of invites for international visitors participating in Geeks On A Plane. Subject to space and availability.

 

Geeks & Glamour Dinner and After Party 07:00 - 10:00pm

 


Geeks & Glamour is an exclusive invite only dinner and after party that will be held in Shanghai on June 15th. Hosted by Cilantro Media and Socitti, it will bring together Chinese and international attendees of Geeks On A Plane, TEDxShanghai and the Shanghai International Film Festival.

This event is an opportunity for tour attendees to network across sectors of tech, entertainment and media community. 

The Shanghai leg of the Geeks on a Plane Tour 2009 is co-organized with Chinameme - a network of cross-industry China professionals led by @christinelu and @sagebrennan. Barcamp Shanghai is co-organized with @calvinwuchin, @toffleran and @markovitch.
